Hermoso ¿cierto? Las imágenes que aprecian en estos instantes corresponden al Castillo de Vaduz el magnífico palacio residencial de la Familia Real de Liechtenstein.

La fecha exacta de la construcción del castillo permanece perdida en el tiempo aunque no hay duda de que haya sido erigida durante la Edad Media. Su primer propietario (y probablemente su constructor) fue el Conde Rudolf von Werdenberg-Sargans.

Al igual que un gran número de castillos europeos el Schloss Vaduz tuvo una historia turbulenta especialmente durante la Guerra Schwaben de 1499 cuando fuerzas suizas lo quemaron.

Reconstruido durante el s. XVII el castillo fue adquirido por la Familia Real en 1712 y pasó por un período extensivo de renovaciones a principios del s. XX. El palacio se convirtió en la residencia oficial de la familia en 1938.

Interesantemente el castillo al igual que todo el principado mantiene un vínculo muy especial  con Panamá ya que es frecuentado por el Príncipe Maximiliano (hijo del actual monarca) y su esposa la Princesa Ángela de Liechtenstein de origen panameño.

Beautiful, isnt it? The images you are looking at correspond to the Vaduz Castle the magnificent residential palace of the Royal Family of Liechtenstein.

The exact date of construction of the castle remains a mystery although there is no doubt it was erected some time in the Middle Ages. Its first owner (and presumably builder) was Count Rudolf von Werdenberg-Sargans.

As with a large number of European castles Schloss Vaduz has had a turbulent history especially during the Schwaben War of 1499 when Swiss forces burned it down.

Rebuilt during the 17th century the castle was purchased by the Royal Family in 1712 and underwent extensive renovations in the early 20th century. It became the family is official residence in 1938.

Interestingly the castle as well as the entire principality of Liechtenstein have a rather special link to Panama as it is frequently visited by Prince Maximilian (son of the current monarch) and his wife Panamanian born Princess Angela of Liechtenstein.
